so some of ya’ll have been over here, but for those that haven’t here is a reminder of what my den looks like.
now time for you to help. how can we use this room for something else?
we’re getting a new couch, and my computer room is becoming the TV room. the computer is going by the fish tank and that leaves the den totally empty. so terri and i are trying to think of off-the-wall things to use the room for. here are some BAD things that we are definitely NOT going to do: guest room, study, or sitting room.
its not big enough for a pool table (room is 8.5′x13′) and we don’t really have enough books and shit to make it a library.
so what is something that we can do to the room? we are considering all ideas, especially the odd ones because we’d like to use the room in a non-conventional, “cool” way. (aka how much does it cost to make a MAME cabinet and turn it into an arcade room?)
Burn it down, get a loft. Buy foosball table and import yourself a Los from Louisiana. Girls are optional but welcome.
That coffee table would be sweet if you mounted LCD screens under the glass.
A pre-built mame machine will cost a couple thousand dollars, but if you want to build it yourself, you’re looking at a couple hundred for the cabinet, plus a PC (which you probably have laying around), plus a couple hundred in misc parts (joysticks, plugs, adapters), plus a couple days/weeks of screaming and cursing.
Another idea is to convert it in to an S&M “workout room”

Lay some hardwood floor. Add in a polished metal pole. Have big parties where hot sluts dance and get naked utilizing the pole.

oh btw i got a suggestion. make it a kick-ass lsu room. my dad had to renovate his after he started working again for his new job and i miss all the cool memorabilia.
