so today i saw a post on tribalwar with some amazing pictures in it, two of which were HDR. i started reading about the process and techniques for making cool images with HDR and realized with my new-fangled camera i could do it myself. cliff notes: hdr is when you take multiple images of the same subject at different exposures and combine them into one, keeping the best parts from each.
unfortunately i couldn’t get photoshop CS2 to work (some damn error about a command not being available, even though i tried all of adobe’s suggested fixes) but i was able to use an app called photomatix to help me for now. hopefully in the future i can get it working and make better looking images.
let me know what do you think. i bet it would be twice as good if i had a more interesting subject. but hey, at 11:30 at night, sometimes you just have to use the building across the street.

Interesting on the windows on the right hand side of the building started blurring. How much of a difference in exposure b/t shots?
yeah i think i just need to focus better! :] i had it on manual focus so that each exposure would be the same. i dunno how well depth of field affects objects that are that far away. i’ll have to play with my aperture next time.
i’d have to check my exif data to see how long the shutter was open for each shot, but all 5 shots were one full stop difference.
Thats pretty slick wee man.
Ps. Your little bro scored 2 goals the other day against Belaire. And you should come back to BR so you can play soccer :)
