tank just cycled, so i don't have any experience with SPS under these yet. they definitely get hot to the touch, but not so much so that the built-in fans turn on. (w/ ambient temperature < 75F). basically silent. overall very happy with them, but if the corals don't do well then nothing else matters. time will tell...
